Moose Hunts
Moose are the signature species at Compass Mountain Outfitters. Experience some of the best true Canada moose hunting there is. With our territory spanning a massive 5000 square km (3100 miles) of diverse and remote terrain, our woods are loaded with trophy bulls. If you don’t see more moose than people on your hunt, we’d be surprised.

Elk Hunts
All of our Rocky Mountain Elk hunts are done in a trophy zone, which means we have a 6-point minimum. Our area is known for dark, heavy, large-frame stock that make for excellent trophies.

Our hunts take place deep in the Rocky Mountains and foothills, making for scenic and challenging adventures. Mountain Goat Hunts
Compass Mountain Outfitters has world class mountain goats. This challenging mountain hunt will take you into the most scenic parts of our territory. We have a high goat population and strategically placed camps to ensure that this hunt will be high success.

Whether you want to focus solely on a trophy billy or pair a goat hunt with moose and elk, we will build your dream mountain adventure. Horse and backpacking options are available. Goats are a challenging species to pursue and are often located near the top of some steep, formidable mountains. While we go that extra mile to work for your success, clients need to be prepared physically and mentally for a challenging hunt.

We also offer extremely limited bighorn sheep hunts for those looking for the ultimate mountain challenge. A bighorn ram is arguably the toughest animal in North America to hunt and we pride ourselves on high success. If a bighorn is on your list, contact us for photos and pricing.

As well as our coveted bighorn tags, we have strong connections with some of the best outfitters in the business for Dall and Stone sheep. Black Bear Hunts
Although we now do the majority of our bear hunts on the BC side, we still have some allocations in Alberta. We can hunt these in either the spring or the fall. Typically in the fall they are booked as an add on to a moose or elk hunt but we do target them in the spring and boy is it a fun hunt. It’s all spot and stalk or predator calling, so we are up close and personal to lots of huge bruins. The best part is we are on the ground with them. We harvest some absolute tanks and have a decent amount of color phase. We average well over 6 feet squared and have taken them as large as pushing the 8 foot mark. No stretching necessary on these big bears.

Winter Hunts
LYNX-DEER COMBO
Compass Mountain Outfitters teams up with some of the best local houndsmen to offer a classic hound hunt for lynx. While the northern locale of our hunting territory limits the cougar population, lynx hunters are encouraged to have a cougar tag in their pocket in the event a big track is cut on your hunt.

Throughout November we offer a lynx-whitetail combination hunts and odds are high you could end up with an elusive mountain buck as a bonus on your quest for a lynx.

WOLVES
Wolves are called in and baited where they are hunted from heated blinds. With the vastness of our territory and a thriving ungulate population, our wolf numbers are increasing each season. Patience, perseverance, and of course luck are what it takes to seal the deal on these apex predators but, chasing them in the untamed and fierce environment of the Rocky Mountain winter is the ultimate extreme adventure.
TRAPLINE ADVENTURE
If spending some time on a real-life working trapline is on your bucket list, we have something for you. Keep the winter nights at bay from our cozy cabins, while exploring the depths go mountain winter on snowmobiles checking trap sets. A great combination with a baited wolf hunt, this is a week of mountain adventure that will be unforgettable.
